Comments: Rising International is the first organization we know of to use the home party business model as a Not-For-Profit We can’t tell you how excited we were when we heard of their cause. As many know, a home business not only has a proven track record but Rising International has taken it a huge leap forward bridging the gap between the aid and charity model with solving world poverty for women through helping women understand and use entrepreneurship. Rising internationals goal is to reduce poverty by building a strong and sustainable business for both the women creating the goods and the women selling the goods in a global economy.
How?
For the women in high risk area of the world (lmpoveri~hed of developed and developing nations), Rising International purchases crafts at a living wage. They work with them to understand products that are indigenous to the area and create high quality products that can be sold by a network of women through their homes. Rising International currently focuses on working with women in the highest risk situations such as those in refugee camps, those with HIV/AIDS, homeless women, displaced immigrants, former slaves or those in war-torn regions.
By training and providing ongoing support to women, professional and low-income, here in the United States, Rising International gives them the opportunity to run their own home based business. These women earn an income from the sales of the crafts~

Advantages: Most American’s go their entire life without visiting another country yet they donate a great deal of funds to help third world countries. Almost 2/3rds of the world lives on less then $2.00 a day per Raising International. You can see and have a direct effect on someone in poverty which will make you feel great about what you are doing!. With our busy lives, it is hard to find the time to become engaged and Rising International allows this in a business like manner. Not only does it help the women in the countries in which the goods’ are being made, but it helps women here in the United States learn how to run a business in an incubator in a support system. When women understand after running their home business that the same skills are needed to run a larger business — watch out.
This is a ground floor opportunity. Currently there are a few companies that distribute their products and services through home parties, reaching millions of living rooms each year. Rising International is just starting to get momentum. Their focus currently so they can handle the huge volume as they grow is to get funding through donations and grants as they grow.
Disadvantages: There are no disadvantages for helping a great cause. If you are looking for a huge amount of money, this probably isn’t the opportunity for you. They are just starting out and will have growing pains. Their compensation plan isn’t setup to attract the people wanting to people for making a difference.
