People are looking for trusted sources for guidance. Why do you think social networking is taking off? People want to help people and people want good information. You can’t fake it. You either have it or you don’t. People know. You might be able to get away with it for a short time, but not for long!
Thirty years ago a company could go into a new town with a new product or service and wow everyone and quickly leave. There was no way for other communities to efficiently find out if the product or service was good based on another community’s experience. That certainly isn’t true today! Within minutes it can be tweeted, posted in blogs and sent to masses!
Trust is the emotion of good business. You have to earn it. It comes from consistently doing what’s best for your people. Truly caring about others breaks down barriers.
As Zig Ziglar said, “You can have everything in life you want, if you help enough other people get what they want”
For the past decade, many have been told that direct marketing, direct sales and multilevel marketing is a numbers game!
No – they are about is a relationships and providing solutions.
So many have been excited by the loot, they shortcut the relationship part of the process.
But the relationship IS the business.
Business is NOT just a numbers game. People are people, not numbers. They have goals, dreams and desires. They are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandmothers, and grandfathers to people who love them.
The “numbers game” garbage teaches people to become a recruiter, and not build a business or help them learn how to build a business. Recruit, recruit, recruit, numbers, numbers, numbers.
A recruiter never knows their personally sponsored people’s their goals, dreams, or spouse’s or children’s names. It’s only about numbers. Lets get’em, got’em ..next..
Products come & go. Companies come & go.. but the people you build a network with with remember you for ever if you make it about relastionships.
If you treat people like they are just another income source, the typical style, you’re trading long-term stability for short-term profit. Your first commitment MUST be to your people, NOT to personal profit
For most Direct Marketers, the # I commitment is personal profit That’s neither right nor wrong, it’s just is a certain style. The bad effect is that many of them will sell anything and everything, without ever trying it themselves. They jump from one opportunity to the next without really intending to understand the product or have a passion for it. They just want the MONEY.
If you are going to do that - trust & loyalty disappears
So where do you begin?
Choose a company with consumable products that YOU have a passion for or believe in. One that you feel will make a real difference in the lives of your customers and, if you are helping others build a business as well, their lives.
For your customers -
- Make sure you offer a good value to the customer with your product or service.
- Make sure YOU offer some kind of value to the customer – great customer service, product or industry knowledge, or special services.
- Get to know your customers and clients. Make sure they have all the information they need about your product or service, give them the personal attention, respect & knowledge they deserve.
For people you are helping start their own business -
- Get to know them. Learn what they really want. Help them formulate their “WHY’, and do everything you can to make them feel so valued & cared for that they’ll be forever loyal. Give them the personal attention, respect & admiration they deserve.
If they see you as a special, trusted friend & confidante, you’re right on tracks
