I'm sure if you have been looking for a legitimate business using the affiliate, Direct Sales (Single Level Marketing),  MLM (Multi Level Marketing) or other Network Marketing Businesses Model, by now you have come up against the aggressive people, Internet squeeze pages, false promises, over statement of simplicity, and if you joined or spent money on one maybe even abandoned after giving them your time and money.

Before we start on how to avoid getting scammed by people, websites, or other network marketers, first let's define a real scam. A scam is a system  organized by a company or individual to trick or deceive you out of your time or money, leaving you with little or no value at the end.

This is a huge concern in the affiliate marketing, direct sales and  home business industry, however, there are true legitimate business opportunities . . . you just have to know how to do your due diligence to find the best home business (Personal Franchise) for yourself!

The business model of compensating sales and marketing efforts has been around for decades - both inside of a corporate structure and outsourced to a, business, individual or team. Some examples are:

Unfortunately some of the legacy stories come from the few direct sales companies that were either abused by the owner(s) of the company, a group of people building a business using the companies product or service, or were used as sensational stores for the news media.  That being the case, why are Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki, and Warren Buffet in this industry? As a matter of fact, there are more manufacturing companies and new service provides entering this industry weekly. They are having problems trying to get the opportunity sell their product through Costco, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, etc... and they are being told it will cost millions to get their product on the shelves. Besides, if they ever get there, then they have to spend more money competing with the Big Boys that don't want them there.

So just to share with you the facts, scammers and abusers represent a very small percentage on the Internet and those running home businesses. Many of the individuals on the Internet and running businesses from their homes are just like me and you....you just can't find them. This is often magnified and trumpeted when we are looking for an excuse why "IT' did not work. It all comes down to this, know how to do your due diligence, how to evaluate an opportunity properly, understand  how you will make money, and WHO you are doing business with. You will never feel scammed if you do thorough due diligence and you received the product promised. And the income opportunity is an opportunity to make money, not a guarantee to make money. You need to make sure it is your passion so it is fun and exciting to take action every day, enjoying something you love to do, or representing a product or service you believe in.
