Dr. Andrew Weil, the superstar health guru of our generation, advises against watching the news or reading newspapers every day. He says the nonstop bad news has a negative impact on our health! I believe Dr. Weil is right. And I further believe that the reason bad news affects our health is that we know we can't do anything about it. That causes stress, a breakdown of healthy cells, and a disruption of the body's natural rhythms.
If you are like me, I don't watch the news or read the paper every day. If it is bad enough, trust me, people let you know. But if you're like most people, you're probably not willing to cut off the news entirely. Many tell me that they need to know what's going on in the world. But we would all do well to make a conscious effort to ignore the bad stuff over which we have no control. Which, nicely, leaves more time for the good stuff. And the more you concentrate on the good things in your life, the more good things you are likely to have.
Concentrating on the good things in your life will do you far better. Better yet, finding your passion and purpose in life will get rid of the depression. It did in my life!
So how do you find out what your passion is? How about your purpose? First you need to take the steps to find out what it is. For many it doesn't come right away. There are many tools and books out there that are available to help you! You need to take action in order to move yourself forward to success. But sometimes you need a little push to get yourself going... and some simple techniques to help you accomplish your dreams.
A solution can be to start a home based business that allows interaction and support for many people in the community. The time spent in front of the television or reading the news paper can be spent on self improvement, interacting with others in your community, learning about a product or service that you can become passionate about. Come back to life by becoming involved!
"You must know that in any moment a decision you make can change the course of your life forever: the very next person stand behind in line or sit next to on an airplane, the very next phone call you make or receive, the very next movie you see or book you read or page you turn could be the one single thing that causes the floodgates to open, and all of the things that you've been waiting for to fall into place." - Anthony Robbins About The Author: Andrew Van Valer is a noted real estate investor, author, speaker, coach and CEO of Zyzyrgy.com and writes on a variety of subjects related to finance, debt reduction, personal franchises and home based businesses.
