INTEGRITY. What does it mean? What does it stand for? Why do you need it? Why is it such a natural and important character trait for some people? Have you noticed it seems easier for them to attract business? People come to them through word of mouth.
The dictionary defines the meaning of Integrity as Honesty, Unity or a State of being Entire, Probity and Rectitude.
Entire means: Whole, complete, sincere, hearty, in full strength. Probity means: Uprightness, complete honesty, integrity, rectitude Rectitude means: Honesty, uprightness, integrity, probity, correct moral behavior
So that is what the word means. How does it relate to you and business? To me it means a person with Integrity is someone you can trust wholeheartedly - with anything. Someone you can rely on, count on. Someone who will do the right thing in any situation not just when it suits them. Someone you can listen to and believe everything they say. An upright, complete, sincere, whole, hearty person with correct moral behavior. When someone says they are a person of integrity it is a huge complement and comes with great responsibility.
Now if Integrity is such a basic character trait, why then is it so hard for some people (and seemingly more and more so!) to do Business with Integrity - or anything for that matter? Trust & Integrity are considered the most fundamental element in decision making and relationship building. For many the foundation for doing business together. Why does one encounter so many scams, schemes, hoaxes and downright lies out there? I see it every where. It is all about "me" and "I'm entitled". It is even easier on the Internet. Maybe because there is a separation from looking someone directly in the eyes. I can't understand why people don't understand that the true money and more importantly helping others is the best road to success. Make money and help the next person do the same thing. It won't cost you any more perhaps (just a little more time), it won't bankrupt you (you get to have more fruitful relationships), or age you prematurely (I believe being dishonest is stressful)
Going on theInternet there are so many different offers, ideas and business opportunities. Unless you spend hours and hours on research like we have, it is hard to tell what is a real opportunity or another opportunity to be taken. There are many people out there who will sell you an idea, take the money and move on.
And even if you do research you may still be taken for a ride. It will help to eliminate the possibilities though if you dig deep enough and search for Legitimate Business Opportunities and not just grab the first one you see. Many don't know how to do this or are afraid....so they just jump in on "hope" or buy on "emotions". These things take your personal time or you can find someone who you trust that will help you do the research. When I first got into stock trading, I loved Motley Fools. They gave me a pretty good run down of the different stocks they liked and then I could go do my own due diligence.
Fortunately there are still many trustworthy, high integrity individuals and companies out there. You just have to dig and keep digging until you find them. You'll know when you find them. Most legitimate Personal Franchises have conference calls, seminars or meeting you can attend to hear what they're all about. Is it all about money - as much as possible and as fast as possible? Do they care about other people or is it just about me and money? Learn to listen. Really listen. You'll hear the Integrity and get that "This Is It" feeling. And when you do, don't hesitate. Go for it, give it your all. It will come to you.
If you intend to make a Personal Franchise or a Home Business your future, do so with high integrity. Make sure you join a company with integrity rather than being sorry in a few months that you didn't take more time to do the necessary research to find all the answers you needed. There are many of us out here that still do business with our partners and customers in mind.
