Entrepreneurialism is alive and well and most likely happening in all around you right were you live, or if you are lucky it’s happening on your own kitchen table! • The ugly - 90% of all business WILL fail within their first 5 years according to Entrepreneur Magazine.
• The good - Over 30, Million (yes million) Americans have either attempted Network Marketing or are currently involved in the industry. This gives the traditional non-business owner exposure to his/her own business.
Why is the perception of this industry one of easy-riches when in reality it appears most are failing? Just a couple of points might help explain the figures.
• Most people are introduced into an opportunity not as a business to build, as one would a traditional business, but instead as a way to get their products at a “wholesale” price.
• Many people jump into a business with no research on the business or firm understanding of what it takes to meet the criteria of the opportunity and match those to their goals.

What is a Personal Franchise?

A Personal Franchise is a legal and commercial relationship between the owner of a trademark, service mark, trade name, or advertising symbol and an individual or group wishing to use that identification, products or services in a business.
Each personal franchise business (franchise) has been authorized by a parent company (franchisor) to sell their goods and/or services within a given set of parameters. The company defines the method of conducting business between the two parties. Some structures are very defined and others are more liberal. Generally, a personal franchise sells goods or services supplied by the company. This relationship is regulated by FTC laws.
The popularity of the personal franchise business model has to do with the ease in becoming a business owner. Independent, non-franchise businesses have a much higher likelihood of failure within their first year than true personal franchises. One of the most compelling reasons is that, in a personal franchise operation, the company and business team provides business expertise (marketing and advertising plans, management guidance, financing assistance, administrative support and training) that otherwise would not be available to businesses starting from scratch. You have seen them in your email box and read about them in the media and on such websites as www.snopes.com. The fact is these greeting card viruses are real and the perpetrators are even using the good name such as companies like Hallmark to get your attention. You don’t want to be the one to open up the next one and lose important files or data or be the one to send it on to friends.

How do you avoid it? Well it would seem simple at first glance, but maybe we need to take a second look. The good news is that we have a solution, so stay with us!

Imagine it’s your birthday and you open your email to find that you have gotten three emails announcing the arrival of an e-card from a friend. Ahhh, you are loved. Hold on a second there quick click McKrick before you pop that open thing open you might want to think about that odds are with the large volume of these viruses spreading, that you might be looking at a trap. One with you will be very unhappy to encounter.

Hey, we all like a cute little animated e-card that sings to us, has happy moving pictures and a sentimental note, but is it worth the risk to open them and is that the best we can do to celebrate the important day of someone we love?

Studies show that people are more apt to remember when someone took the time to send a physical card that comes out of your mailbox. Why? Well, it seems that people like to know that you invested something into sending that card which shows them that you care about them. They know that you purchase a card, a stamp and took the time to think about the message. The other reason appears to be that people like the idea that something else comes in their mailbox other than bills and credit card offers. Think about your own behavior, you go to your mailbox and take a quick ancillary glance at the contents of the stack. You sift out the personal letters first, and leave the rest to deal with later. People like physical cards. People are becoming afraid of e-cards. I don’t open them anymore, which is a shame because I will never know which ones are legitimate and which people cared enough about me to send me one.

I have recently found the convenience of email and the personalization and safety of a more personalized greeting method. This is working great for me, and I don’t worry that at the next friendly get together that someone is going to walk up and thank me for cleaning their hard drive of its contents! I went to the website www.zyzyrgy.com/freecard and I got Cody to help walk me through the simple process and got my first card for free (thanks guys – mom thought I finally got my act together when she got a mother’s day card!) I grabbed a designed, typed my note – which is key, because if you see my handwriting it looks like someone is sitting on my hands while I am doing it – and then I chose mom’s address and pressed send. These guys at Zyzyyrgy and Send Out Cards did the rest – they printed the cards, put my note inside along with my signature, stamped it and sent it. I felt like a bachelor all over again! It was like a quick service restaurant – good food quickly – fast card quickly. Not pots to clean, no stamps to lick. Well, after I sent my first card, I thought, hey I like this but cards are expensive, so I will save this for special occasions. I found out that these cards are less than $1.00 compared to those that are reaching $5.00 in the retail stores and they don’t mark-up the postage so there is no benefit in me wasting time sending it. All I know is that mom was happy. I found myself sending cards to people I met through PTA, scouting and kids sports to congratulate them on their life’s successes. People would come up and thank me for thinking of them. They almost thought I was human or something. My wife even gets a card once a month, and she was the biggest skeptic of my humanity so seems like it was a buck well spent!

Well I know I can’t prevent viruses from every reaching my computer, but I know my vigilance has paid off in data preservation and a new way to do something I just didn’t do very well in the past and that is to very easily and cheaply just send someone an unexpected, heartfelt card. Maybe if I am lucky there will be a dirty dish virus to point me to another awesome solution – bring on the crusty pot worm!

The Power of Three Revealed

There is a lot of power in a team of three! Have you ever watched someone start a New Years resolution wanting to get back in shape? What do you think the odds are that they will work out and get in shape by themselves over the course of the year? The odds are against them and the statistics tell us their chances are simply not very good. Actually, that is how many of the gyms make most of their money. You see the power of three all around you. One of the strongest associations with the power of three is seen in religion. Each of the different faiths use symbols that indicate a connection to three through forms of triangles which corresponds with the power of three.

The strength in the power of three comes from the significant base of the form as a triangle. If you were to draw a triangle in its truest sense, it would provide a base on any of the edges you laid it on. No angle carries more burden than any other and each angle can function as the base. Tax Philosophy

Your working understanding of tax Law is that you probably think the tax code is way too large and way too complicated for you to understand. But that is simply not true. You can develop a working understanding of tax law in half an hour. That doesn’t mean you will suddenly be an accomplished tax professional, but it does mean you will have the tools necessary to manage your income tax and identify legitimate deductions.

The two basics of tax law are which income is taxable and when, and which expenditures are deductible. If you don’t know the basics you are flying blind. One thing is certain, if you don’t understand tax law it is impossible to manage your income tax. One of our goals today is to simplify tax code and make it discernible to you.

One of the major points many overlook in starting a business from their home is the type of entity they create, determining a tax strategy and how important it is to choose the correct ones. You don’t always have to start out in the perfect entity but you should have a plan to migrate to it as soon as possible or as soon as the funds become available.

Is this important? Yes it is! There is a major difference in the way entities are taxed. If you are filling your taxes under your personal social security number – you will be filling a separate schedule C on your 1040. If you have created a separate entity (Corporation) you will file a completely separate filing. So what is the difference? Lots – One is legislated so that someone else (Governing Body) determines what you can or can not deduct and the other is not. A corporation’s by-laws and business plan determines what is deductible or not – and that makes a huge difference.

When we are through we will arrive at this conclusion. Section 162 giveth, and the rest of the tax code taketh away. That is the conclusion we will eventually come to in this paper, but we aren’t there yet. In our experience, very few taxpayers have an effective working knowledge of tax law. Most tax professionals do have a working knowledge of the technical details of the code, but few of them have the knowledge I am going to give you today. In half an hour, you may very well know more about tax law than your tax professional does. Are you ready for that?

Travis Pastrana is a motocross junkie that has smitten the world with a good disposition, good looks and a friendly approach to his fans. People are going to suggest in life that you can do more than you think is possible and you are going to question whether you can do it. That is because you are not passionate enough about yourself. When you find the passion of you, the intense belief that all is possible because YOU are involved and that you are doing something you love, you will thrive like Travis. He is not a super hero, he is a person who loves what he does and is willing to drink up all life has to offer because he has found that secret of intense trust and has taken that trust in himself, his craft and his supporters and he turns that into the fantastic. Look at each great person you know, all are great because of intense belief in who and what they do. It is what I like to call “immersive passion” because it is like you live a life totally immersed in a tank of passion that goes everywhere you do, you whole body sustenance comes from it. You are it and it is you. Put your foot in the tank today by finding something that you can believe in totally. What one thing do people tell you that you are great at or one thing they always say you should do for a living or “get into” or whatever. You know your passion, but like many of us, you might squirrel it away like some kind of nut for the winter. Maybe you write you passion off as a “hobby” or something that you “love to do”. Once you have found that passion grow it by using it more often, press the limits of the passion and become more immersed each week to a point where you are an expert and living 24/7 in your passion. Find a way to monetize it without turning it into “work” and you will find that you are reborn. The problem with saving for retirement is that it takes a large amount of money to generate a cash flow that you can live on. People don’t realize that they’ve been focused on the wrong thing. They spend 30 to 40 years of their lives working so that one day at age 65 they can retire and do what they want. When most people retire from the workplace, they are on a fixed income. That means regardless of economic conditions, their income does not increase and in fact can go down. The golden years are not so golden if all you can afford to do is move to a senior park in a cheap part of the country so you can sit on the couch and watch cable TV. But that is a reality for a lot of Americans.

What people should be focused on is creating a cash flow that pours into your bank account regardless of economic conditions. In fact, if you focused on doing that over the next 3-5 years, you may well retire at any age you want, not 65. America has bought into this myth that they are entitled to retire at age 65 like their parents. But the fact of the matter is, they don’t have the cash flow to keep up with rising costs. The best way to create a cash flow is to start a business. Use your anyway time that we talked about previously to create some extra income today.
